About Shelley Waddington

Shelley Waddington, owner of EnVoyage Perfumes and recipient of the 2011 Rising Star Perfumer of the Year Award, is a true underground force in fine fragrance and has been involved in aromatics for the past 14 years.
Waddington, known by many as “the Carmel Perfumer”, holds a diploma from the prestigious Galimard Perfumeur in Grasse Cedex, France. She has developed innovative concept perfumes, inspired by her travels, legends and lore, and by the beauty of her native Carmel-by-the-Sea, with its storybook English cottages, dramatic scenery, and indigenous flora. It is this tale of two cities--- her unique experience as a classically trained perfumer in France and her love for her native Carmel-by-the-Sea which is her hallmark.
Waddington has collaborated with top designers, artists and consults with private clients to create bespoke perfumes at her private studio. She developed her talent for creating perfumes based on fine art principles, and began developing her innovative lines of ready-to-wear artisan perfumes under her own label using only bio-ethical fragrance materials.
Waddington’s three Award-Winning Collections, the Carmel-by-the-Sea Collection, the Odyssey Collection, and the all-natural Rubicon Collection, were created in her studio and have been lauded globally by her peers, the fragrance industry, and consumers for their innovation and beauty. Waddington continually challenges herself by designing and expanding her horizons creating perfumed stories; these are Shelley’s own signature scents, each inspired by her knowledge of perfume chemistry and composition, indigenous raw materials, by art, artists, literature and the gorgeous world around her.
